As you add potential measures, please include a description, calculations for the measure and possible data sources.

Measure Description Calculations Data Source
# of stations participating in the Angel Initiative # of police or fire stations that have been set up and are actively participating with the training and tools to be part of the Angel Initiative Sum of the # of Actively participating station (done annually) List
# of People who have been assisted through the Angel Initiative # of unduplicated people who have received assistance each year through the program.  The number will be updated each month to add to the total for the year, and when the new year starts the prior year will be the total for that entire year.  The sum of the unique names on the confidential list held by each station. It is possible that people may be counted multiple times if they get help at multiple stations, but that is likely to be rare.    Sum of numbers from each participating fire or police station
% of participants in the Angel Initiative who are in successful recovery  after one year  Participants will understand that they will be connected with a volunteer "angel" and one of the data points that the angel will report on a quarterly basis is whether or not the person is sticking with their journey to not misuse drugs or alcohol.   The angels will report the status of the people they are assisting each quarter so there can be a valid number to calculation the # of people who are sustaining recovery (or not becoming addicted).

Numerator: The sum of the 4 quarterly values for a calendar year of the # of people who were still in successful recovery (or avoiding addiction) at the end fo the 4th quarter after the quarter where they got involved with the Angel Initiative.

Denominators:  The sum of the four quarters of a calendar year of the # of people who started the program each quarter.

Each station will gather two numbers from their "angels" at the end of each calendar quarter.   How many new peopel did they engage.  And, of the people who they began working with 5 quarters ago, how many are they still working with that are either in successful recovery or who stopped misusing substances so they didn't become addcted.
# of People trained as "angels"  One of the key roles in the Angel Initiative is that of the "angel."  These are volunteers who have been through about __ hours of training and then help people through a combination of in-person, phone, and app-based interactions.  # of people who have completed training.  This will be an annual number that will be updated monthly, and at the end of the year, the total number for the prior year will be kept. List of names of people who completed the training.
