Welcome to the Opioid Coalition Resource Hub! The Opioid Coalition Resource Hub was created to help point communities responding to the opioid and addiction epidemic in the right direction. Many communities are striving to address this crisis, but far too many are re-inventing the wheel and not taking advantage of resources that others would be willing to share. Things are changing so quickly and there are so many innovative efforts that are being attempted that traditional research and information sharing practices are neither sufficient nor fast enough. The Resource Hub is here to help.

What is the Opioid Coalition Resource Hub?

The Opioid Coalition Resource Hub was created to help point communities in the right direction. Many communities are striving to address this crisis, but far too many are re-inventing the wheel and not taking advantage of resources that others would be willing to share. Things are changing so quickly and there are so many innovative efforts that are being attempted that traditional research and information sharing practices are neither sufficient nor fast enough.

The goal of the Opioid Coalition Resource Hub is to build a nationwide network of individual volunteers, schools, non-profits and other organizations that are sharing information and digital assets to help everyone else work more effectively. As it grows, this wiki will be filled with valuable information, strategy templates, educational tools and other digital resources that can be used freely by other states or coalitions that are striving to address the many different challenges of the opioid epidemic.

This site is a high-value wiki (like Wikipedia) and shared resource commons for coalitions addressing the opioid crisis.

Use Freely.

There is no charge for using this resource hub. The resource hub may reference tools that are not free, but the main purpose is to provide access to freely shared information and tools. This is intended to be non-commercial, like Wikipedia, but with more tangible resources to share beyond just information.

Share Generously.

If you have expertise or information or anything you can share that will help others, we invite you to contribute! This resource hub is about sharing tools that work for communities, and is only as valuable as those who participate and contribute. Share tools that have worked in your community so another community can benefit from your experience.

The combination of the "zoomable" structure of the opioid crisis strategy map and the flexible wiki format should make it easy for people in a coalition to very quickly find the information and tools that will be most helpful to them.

Volunteer Enthusiastically.

To keep this free, we will all rely on each of us to volunteer our time and resources to help everyone else. Some volunteers may become Page Managers who help keep their pages clean and others will be Subject Matter Experts who will review pages for technical and scientific accuracy on a periodic basis. There is an abundance of new research and reports coming out each month, and most pages have links for "Resources to Investigate" (RTI) that volunteers can reference work on.

How to Navigate the OCRH

If you are a coalition just getting started, start with this easy-to-navigate first entry point into the Resource Hub along SAFE Project's Lines of Operation here. This will provide you with reference points to strategies and pages in the OCRH.

If you are a more advanced coalition looking to jump right into the strategies for success when addressing the opioid and addiction epidemic, start here with the Strategy Map. The strategy map framework is a robust and comprehensive "theory of change" to solve a complex problem like the opioid and addiction epidemic. Even though it is technically impossible to have a comprehensive strategy map demonstrated to solve the problem we are facing, the OCRH Strategy Map is one informed theory for how communities can take action.

How to Edit and Update Pages in the OCRH

It is easy to add and modify content in the OCRH.   You do need to register and log in before you can make changes, but it is free and easy.

This video provides some training of how to use and modify this wiki.
