Examples of a Description for this Objective

In order to help new parents and babies get connected to people, resources and things that will help with early childhood development, community organizations and individuals will host an annual (or semi-annual) community baby shower celebrations.  Communities will donate materials for a “Welcome Baby” bag for newborns.  The events will be a celebration of connections, accessing resources, and building relationships.

Many new parents are disconnected and under-resourced, so the kids don’t get the benefits of things that would support brain development, attachment, and Positive Childhood Experiences.   Otherwise disconnected parents participate in Community Baby Showers and 1st Birthday celebrations where they get great encouragement, resources and connections that will help their babies get off to a strong start. 
Many programs and resources for babies and new moms exist, but they struggle to connect with the people who would benefit the most from them.   The community baby celebrations make it easy for organizations to connect with many new moms and babies that can benefit from their resources. 
Many “multiplying resources” (e.g. websites, free apps, free or low-cost eLearning courses) are underutilized, even though they use be used by countless people for free.    Disadvantaged or disconnected parents are connected with these resources and supported in using them—delivering many benefits very economically.  
Many struggling moms experience post-partum depression or other post-partum challenges, and they lack the supports needed to help them.     Moms who face post-partum mental health struggles are able to participate in post-patrum support groups.
