Increase Community Partner's Presence in Schools to Support Trauma-Impacted Students
Return to ZOOM MAP--Expand Trauma-Informed Educational Practices
Brief Description
Community patterns in schools are an important aspect to focusing on holistic development and support in society. Schools have a primary mission to support students in their educational endeavours, and for them to succeed in their goals, children need to be supported and feel safe, and schools need to recognize how a student's personal experiences can influence their learning [1].
It is important to note that while the presence of community partners in school is critical for students, the individuals interacting with the children msy acknowledge their wellness and mental health [2].To build a trauma-informed resilient school, school community members need to be supportive of the student’s emotional and behavioral needs that involves the appropriate community and social services [3].
